The role

We’re looking for an organised and proactive Events Assistant to help deliver IAB UK’s vibrant programme of industry events. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in events, eager to learn and make a real impact. You’ll support the planning, coordination and delivery of events, assisting with everything from logistics and supplier communication to on-the-day coordination. Working closely with our Events Manager and wider team, you’ll bring energy, creativity, and a can-do attitude to every project. Key responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of IAB UK events, both in-person and virtual, ensuring smooth execution from start to finish
  • Help manage event registrations, guest lists and delegate communications, providing a seamless experience for attendees
  • Take ownership of a small series of in-person events, managing them from planning through to delivery
  • Coordinate and manage webinars, including setup, moderation, technical support and follow-up
  • Assist with on-site event setup, registration and guest experience, acting as a friendly first point of contact
  • Liaise with suppliers, speakers and partners to ensure all event elements run smoothly
  • Work closely with the wider team to promote events across the IAB’s channels, including email, web and social media
  • Curate social media assets for event speakers and sponsors to support promotion and engagement
  • Support the preparation and curation of slides and materials for event sessions
  • Provide post-event support, including collecting feedback, compiling reports and event content wrap-ups
  • Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining the CRM, tracking delegate requests and ensuring accurate event records

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrable enthusiasm for a career in events
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers and attendees
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment, while anticipating challenges and responding effectively to unexpected changes
  • Positive, proactive and willing to learn on the job
  • Comfortable using digital tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, or similar)
  • Eagerness to stay informed about industry trends and adapt to new developments, ensuring events remain relevant and impactful
  • A genuine interest in events, digital advertising and delivering great audience experiences

Management structure

This role will report into the Events Manager. It has no line reports.

Compensation

This role offers a salary of £28,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package including a discretionary bonus.
