Our comments on Government plans to require online political adverts to contain digital imprint


In August the Cabinet Office launched a consultation on introducing a new requirement for digital imprints to be included with political adverts online, with the objective of providing greater clarity over online campaign promotion material.  The IAB submitted this response, recommending a tighter definition of the ‘promoter’ of the advert, and that advertisers retain liability for compliance with any new requirements, to align them more closely with the existing CAP Code regulations.
